Annual meeting of the Mozart communities within the Mozart Week in Salzburg
On January 28, the annual meeting of the globally active Mozart communities took place in Salzburg at the Villa Vicina.
The managing director of the International Mozarteum Foundation, Rainer Heneis, welcomed the representatives of the Mozart communities present.
Ms. CorlianΓ² Nahi, who is also responsible for the Mozart Communities, presented the three major completed projects of the last few years, the new intermission foyer near the Great Hall of the Mozarteum, the new seating in the Great Hall, the purchase of the Villa Vicina in SchwarzstraΓe and its adaptation as a new concert hall and office building, as well as the relocation of the Magic Flute House to the courtyard of Mozart's residence.
Linus Klumpner then introduced himself as the new director of the Mozart museums and reported on the gratifying development of visitor numbers after the reopening of the museums. He also reported in detail on the restoration and repositioning of the Magic Flute House, which will now be freely accessible to everyone.
Ulrich Leisinger, head of the scientific department of the Mozarteum Foundation, reported on the status of current research projects.
A musical interval was provided by members of the ensemble 100Mozartkinder (youth project of the Saxon Mozart Society) and their mentors.
Afterwards, representatives of the Mozart communities from Japan, Lyon, Mozarteum Hellas as well as Vienna and the young Mozart community Treviso reported about their activities in 2023. The European Mozart Ways, represented by its General Secretary, Gerhard Spitz, presented the activities 2020 - 2022 as well as project priorities 2023. Following this, the short video "Thoughts on Mozart", created in 2022, was performed.
