Award for Mozart's Birthplace / Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg

Mozart's Birthplace: Museum since 1880, today one of the most visited cultural institutions in Europe, now bearer of the Austrian Museum Quality Seal.

In recent decades, the Mozart museums of the International Mozarteum Foundation have established themselves as tourist attractions. In the spring of last year, Mozart's birthplace and residence were registered as museums for the first time. In a second step, the birthplace has now applied for the museum seal of approval.

The award of the Austrian Museum Quality Seal is public proof that the museum in question (Mozart's birthplace) takes responsibility for the preservation of cultural heritage, recognises and acts in accordance with the ICOM Ethical Guidelines for Museums, and ensures that visitors have an excellent museum experience. This is a level of quality in museum work that goes beyond the minimum standards required for museums (museum registration).
