Bella Musica with original violin by W. A. Mozart in Lucca
The transnational music project Bella Musica is going on tour and once again embarking on a European Mozart journey. The tour starts in Salzburg at the Mozarteum University. This yearβs Bella Musica tour promises an extraordinary highlight: for the first time, the original violin by W. A. Mozart will be presented in the city of Lucca on August 28 as part of the Bella Musica tour. This unique opportunity is made possible by a new collaboration with the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg. Pre-college students have been practising on the famous Costa violin from 1764 in Mozartβs birthplace since April for the upcoming tour.
On August 21, 2024, 17 young students from the Mozart cities will once again follow in Mozartβs footsteps as young ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways under the direction of Stefan David Hummel. In addition to the absolute highlight in Lucca, the tour includes debut performances at the Chigiana International Festival in Siena (27.08), at the Summer Festival in Cremona (29.08) and for the first time in Milan (30.08). In Milan, the concert will take place in the church where the work Exultate Jubilate by W. A. Mozart was premiered. Further concerts will take place in Avigliano/Terni (25.08), Rome (26.08), Verona (31.08), Nogaredo (31.08) and Bolzano (01.09).
βThe Bella Musica project shows how young musicians from different countries - Austria (Mozarteum University), Ukraine, Germany (Dresden Carl Maria von Weber University of Music) and Italy (Conservatorio Santa Cecilia Roma & Conservatorio Claudio Monteverdi Bolzano) - find a common language through music. In a world full of challenges, it is music that brings us together and shows that there are always ways of peaceful coexistence - a legacy of Mozartβs European enthusiasm.β (Stefan David Hummel)
