Mozart’s stays: 20. - about 22. 1. 1770
On Saturday, 20 January 1770, father and son Mozart came from Bozzolo to Cremona. After staying at the "Colombina" inn, they attended a performance of the opera "La Clemenza di Tito" by M. Valentini / text by Pietro Metastasio at the Teatro Nazari (now Teatro Ponchielli) in the evening. Leopold and Wolfgang think to "Cremona das orcchestro gut".
Cremona is represented in the association by two members, namely the "Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali - Claudio Monteverdi / Conservatorio di Musica - Cremona" and the "Università di Pavia Dipartimento di Musicologia e Beni Culturali" based in Cremona.
Conservatorio di Musica
The "Conservatorio di Musica" has a string orchestra, a school choir, the baroque ensemble "Animosi" and numerous chamber music groups. The educational profile is complemented by cooperation with joint institutes such as the musicology programme of the University of Pavia, the international violin making school of Cremona and the "Stauffer" Foundation. A wide range of introductory and amateur courses for all age groups is guaranteed by the presence of the Scuola Civica. The Conservatoire presents almost 50 public events every year. These take place both in the halls of the school and in numerous other venues in the city.

The "Università di Pavia Dipartimento di Musicologia e Beni Culturali" offers a complete education, ranging from music theory to music history, from criticism to philology to the management of cultural heritage, especially musical heritage. A purely humanistic study profile completes the didactic offer of musicology in Cremona.
