European Youth Orchestra Academy 2023 (EYOA)

A project of Kulture @Home and the Musikschule Mannheim

On 25 April, the participants of the project were released.

"I am simply convinced that you have to start changing things around you. Music is a medium that doesn't need words and with which you can start to communicate ideals and maybe even realise them a little". - EYOA conductor Jan-Paul Reinke

Once a year, we invite around 50 young European musicians between the ages of 14 and 18 to Mannheim for a 10-day orchestra academy under the direction of a renowned conductor and in collaboration with the Mannheim Municipal Music School. Two final concerts will be the highlight of the workshop.

The aim is to promote and deepen friendships between young Europeans through the unifying element of music. In addition to making music together, we will also achieve this through political and cultural lectures, interactive discourses and political trips. These activities are designed to deepen and strengthen cohesion and international understanding as well as friendships among young Europeans.

Final concerts:

25 August Rokokotheater Schwetzingen Castle.

26 August Big Stage Spinellipark Mannheim
