European Youth Orchestra Academy 2023 - Mannheim
The Academy brought together 47 young musicians aged 14 to 18 from 17 European Union countries, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine. In an eight-day workshop, they rehearsed eight hours a day for the two gala concerts in the Rokokotheater Schwetzingen (25 August 2023) and the Spinellipark Mannheim (26 August 2023).
In addition to the works of the Mannheim School, the programme also included a world premiere: GAIA - by Mario Joannou Elia (Cyprus) "The Song of the Earth" - a symphonic rhapsody for soprano, violin and orchestra.
