European Youth Orchestra Academy - Mannheim School

This year's project will once again involve youth exchange and talent development for young musicians from all 27 EU countries. The European Youth Orchestra Academy 2023 will take place from 19 to 27 August in Mannheim, the Unesco City of Music, home of the Mannheim School and the City of Mozart. The young musicians will showcase their skills in two concerts

• 25 August 2023, 20:00 Rococo Theatre Schwetzingen Castle - Electoral Residence

• 26 August 2023, 20:00 Open air concert on the balustrade of the Bundesgartenschau 2023 (Federal Horticultural Show 2023)

The programme includes works by Christian Canabich (1731-1798) Overture from the opera Elektra, Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra KV 364 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), a world premiere by Mario Joannou Elia (1978) GAIA - for soprano and orchestra and by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809 - 1847) Symphony No. 4 op. 90.
