W.A. Mozart was never in the Ukraine, but his son Franz Xaver Mozart, the youngest and only surviving child besides his brother Carl Thomas, travelled to Lemberg (L'viv/UA) in 1808, where he visited his cousin A. Lange and from there he took up a post in Steinhübel/Galicia (Podkamien/UA) as piano and music teacher to the two daughters of Count Victor v. Baworowski. From 1813 - 1838 he lived with interruptions as a freelance artist in Lemberg.
