Mozart's stays: 15th - around 29.7.1763 / 29.10.1777 / 24.10.1790
W.A. Mozart stayed in Schwetzingen three times. The first time was during the Great Western European Journey. The family stayed in Schwetzingen for two weeks. The Mozarts stayed at the inn "Zum roten Haus", today DreikΓΆnigsstraΓe 6. On 18 July 1763, an academy in honour of the Mozart family is held in the castle, where Wolfgang and Nannerl play music. During their stay, the Mozarts came into contact with the excellent Mannheim orchestra for the first time. In addition to Elector Carl Theodor and Electress Elisabeth Augusta, the Mozarts met musicians and singers from the Electoral Court (Mannheim Court Orchestra): Dorothea (soprano), Johann Baptist and Franz Anton Wendling, Pietro Sarselli (tenor), the Toeschi brothers, Ignaz FrΓ€nzl, Christian Cannabich and others.
On 29 October, Wolfgang and his mother pass through Schwetzingen on their way from Hohenaltheim to Mannheim. In October 1790, Wolfgang makes an excursion from Mannheim to Schwetzingen to visit the palace gardens.
