St. Gilgen

St. Gilgen, 30 km east of Salzburg, was the place where Mozart's grandfather worked, his mother was born and his beloved sister "Nannerl" moved here after her marriage.

Although Mozart never stayed here, the history of this place is inextricably linked with that of Mozart. The Mozarthaus St. Gilgen is a museum and concert hall commemorating the stay of Mozart's mother and sister.
