Mozart's third visit to Vienna

14 July - 26 September 1773

During their stay, father Leopold and Wolfgang travel with the Fischer couple and the Teyber family to Baden, where they see the spa town for the first time. Mr. and Mrs. Fischer (coppersmiths) let the Mozarts stay in their house at Tiefen Graben 18, which has remained almost unchanged. Leopold Mozart writes to his wife on 21 July: "...we have beautiful rooms and everything we need with Mr. Fischer...". The string quartets KV 168-173 were written here. A plaque commemorates his stay in 1773. It was here that his experience of Viennese music determined his path to becoming a master of German art.
