Singing classroom

A success story since 2018

The Singing Classroom stands for the joy of singing, less stress in the classroom and better concentration of the pupils. The aim is to give primary school teachers 15 minutes a day to sing together during lessons, making the positive effects of singing tangible. Singing nourishes and strengthens the children's souls and personal development, and serves as a cultural, intergenerational, social and community-building tool.

The festive event on 17 May at the Salzburg Congress Centre was attended by 800 children from 40 classes in the province of Salzburg, representing more than 8,000 participating children. Naturally, the focus was on singing together. "Das klingt so herrlich...." from Mozart's Magic Flute was one of the songs. The central project of the European Mozart Ways is the creation of a Mozart children's songbook, which will also be used in the singing classroom.

The project was initiated by the Province of Salzburg and is being carried out in cooperation with the Forum Volkskultur, the Chorverband Salzburg, the Education Directorate and Musikum Salzburg. Salzburg and the Musikum Salzburg.
