St. Gilgen

St. Gilgen, 30 km east of Salzburg, was Mozart's grandfather's place of work, his mother was born here, and his beloved sister "Nannerl" moved here after her marriage.

Even though Mozart was never here, the history of this place is inseparable from Mozart's history.
