Works of W.A. Mozart at the Salzburg Festival 2023

It would be inconceivable for the Salzburg Festival not to include works by W.A. Mozart in its programme.
In 2023, Martin KuΕ ej, director of the Burgtheater in Vienna, will continue his radical approach to Mozart operas at the Salzburg Festival with Le nozze di Figaro, after Don Giovanni in 2002 and La Clemenza di Tito in 2003. French conductor and expert in historically informed performance practice RaphaΓl Pichon will conduct his first Salzburg opera production. Eight performances are scheduled from 27 July to 28 August with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the Haus fΓΌr Mozart.
In addition to the traditional Mozart matinees with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Utopia Choir and Orchestra under Teodor Currentzis will perform the C minor Mass in the Stiftskirche St. Peter. Other works by W.A. Mozart can be found in the dense concert programme (chamber concerts, soloist concerts and orchestral concerts).
